Winner on Celebrity Big Brother Alex Reid has married his girlfriend of 7 months (On and off) in a small private (Rushed) ceremony in Vegas at Midnight 2 Feb GMTI have no opinion on either as individuals apart from what I have seen over recent months on TV. Alex was a gentlemen right the way through CBB7 and he survived Vinnie Jones bullying and turned the public preconceptions of him full circle proudly walking out of the house with over 65% of the votes.
I was one of the people who also watched Katie's dreadful bullying from the British public as they voted her to do every 'Bush tucker trial' on I'm a celebrity get me out of here. Yes, in our minds she wanted the publicity, but Katie tells us it was for herself, to find closure, to go back to the 'Scene of the time' as it were. Who are we to say what was inside her head?
But this is where my sympathy for both stops. Alex seems to be a confused, starstruck little boy, a rabbit caught in the spotlights of fame. Maybe he does love Katie and Katie loves him, but seven months? Come on, it's impossible to know all each others annoying little habits that quick. I have been out with girls for 2 years and still not known all her little idiosyncrasies. It's impossible to know if someone is right for you in that time. Maybe it will last, perhaps they are two lost souls who need to be with someone to feel complete, but I cannot for the life of me understand why they have done it, there is no need. She is still getting rid of the green mark left by her last ring, bought for her by that cheap little fame seeking Aussie Peter Andre.
His rumble in the jungle was nothing more than a plan to find fame again after slipping right down under, he couldn't even make a career for himself his own beloved Australia. He has admitted in The News of the world that Katie was never his type, well here's a little tip for you sport, don't marry someone who isn't your type and definitely don't have children with them.I really hope Alex and Katie do stay together, I think Mr and Mrs Reid stand more of a chance than Messrs Andre for the simple reason that Alex has no agenda, I believe he truly loves Katie, I think he is a softy at heart and would do anything for Katie and that's what Katie needs.
I can't help thinking that Alex is in over his head, he will be blown away by all the publicity Ts.unami that is about to swallow him up. Let's hope he doesn't get spat out the other side.
