George Orwell, Crazy? Or are we the crazy ones

In the novel 1984 George Orwell warned us about Big Brother, but which one did he mean? It seems the prediction of us all being victims of Big Brother have come true. Unfortunately it's not what he meant, or is it?

I will confess this is my first introduction to channel 4's Celebrity BB, not out of choice but because I have been out of the country while millions of you in your ever diminishing numbers have been tuning in since 2001 when Jack Dee emerged triumphant from the house. Other winners over the years have included Mark Owen (Take That) Shilpa Shetty (The one Jade Goody offended) and Ulrika Jonnson (That annoying vegetable, sorry, Swede that is famous for having famous boyfriends).

So to the 'Celebrities' shackled together for 27 days in this the final series include a convicted prostitute, Lady Sovreign (Sov to her friends) cage fighting ex of Jordan Alex Reid, Jordan's ex non fighting Dane Bowers, Bass hunter, Nicola 'Jordan wannabe, Ronnie Woods ex coke sharing partner and of course the 4 celebrities, Actor Stephen Baldwin, Stephanie Beacham and the winner for this year I am sure Vinnie Jones, the one guy incidentally that showed what a gentleman he is and the only one in the house when he helped the classy Miss Beacham out of the mini.

Oops, I forgot about Sisqo, just after he did that thong song.

Unlike Heidi Fleiss the only person I recognised was Vinnie Jones. My favourite bit of entertainment from show 1 was Stephanie's face as 'Celeb' after 'Celeb' walked into the 'Cell'. The other highlight was Alex Reid trying to barge his way through a sliding door, hilarious.

So I wonder how tonight's show will entertain the few million that tune in, probably in the hope of a surprise guest being thrown into the Hertfordshire jungle, I hate to say it but the only thing that might liven things up and get millions tuning in would be the introduction of Katie Price and a cage.

One thing is baffling me, why did the police refuse Boy George entry into the house? Surely that is the worst punishment anyone could be subjected to!

  1. My outside bet for the win is Lady Sovereign.

Of course, I haven't seen a single second of it :)
