What is the X Factor?

I was of the belief that the 'X Factor' was that little something special, that certain extra quality that set one performer apart from the rest. I was a factor virgin until this latest series so I have nothing to compare it to. I am neither a talented talent spotter but I like to think that I do know the difference between singing and, well, not singing.
I am a fan of Simon Cowell, he tells it how it is, has a proven track record for finding that someone with that something 'Special' and I believe he has the winner in his group. I am of course singing the praises of Olly Murs, he is the only one with that 'All round' talent. He can sing, he can dance, he has a star quality about him, he is likable and he has that pop star appeal.

I surprised myself reading through that last paragraph, but looking through all the other finalists there really is no threat to Olly, in every case all the others are missing at least one thing and one act is devoid of all. How unlucky are we the viewer to have to suffer not one but twins ruin every song their misguided tone deaf mental mentor puts in front of them for slaughter every week. This was the Halloween edition this week so they could get away with their appearance at least and their make up artist got the night off. I want to mention Stavros Flatley at this point from the other great Cowell dynasty Britain's got talent, they knew and the nation knew that they are not dancers, but they are entertainers. If 'Jedward' had of auditioned on BGT they would not of made it through the first round, it is of course a different procedure on XF as they are taken under the wing of the judges, Simon got the oldies, no surprise there, Cheryl the boys, (of course) Danni the girls (poor girls) and Louis the bands, is it just a coincidence that all 3 are from a particular part of the world?

How is it possible that Miss Frank are out and John and the other annoying one have not even been in the last 2 for the sing off? (Still every cloud :) 1 performance a week is bad enough, seriously though I tell you why, because the usually spot on wise worded Cowell opened his mouth once to often and happened to let it slip that if John and Edward win X Factor he would be on the first plane out of the country never to return. There in a nutshell is the incentive for people to pick up the phone and dial the deadly duos number. Only problem with that of course is the fact that with Cowell taking a percentage off every call we make we are in fact buying his ticket. Hmmm, what a conundrum.

So my 'non professional view' on all of the finalists are;
Olly - The only winner in my book
Jamie - Shave his head, what does he have left?
Lucie - Just another Welsh voice
Rachel - A fake Stacey
Stacey - A real talent, great personality, likable girl but the sort of person we will all be fed up with in a couple more weeks
Joe - Cheryls' little Geordie boy, not ready for the big time, give him another 5 years
Lloyd - This is a singing competition not Britains favourite teen pin up
Danyl - Great singer, zero personality, one word of advice to another wannabe pin up boy, don't admit you are bi-sexual until you have had a few best selling singles and albums
And last and definitely least talented the terrible twins, can't sing, can't dance, contrary to what a couple of the judges say I do not look forward to seeing what they do next, having said that you only have yourself to blame voters, you just have to decide what's worse, Jedward winning, or Cowell staying?
