Nobody else could have handled the funny farm quite the way Davina did and there are two very simple reasons, the first being her unrivalled natural talent to handle any situation she faces and secondly the sheer love she has for BB.
Davina entering the Celebrity Big Brother house helped boost viewing figures on the highlights programme at 9pm on Channel 4 to 3.24m (13%) and kept viewers captive as her time in the house provided hilarious entertainment. A further 416,000 tuned in at 10pm on Channel 4+1.
It was the best piece of drama during CBB7 without the slightest hint of acting. No agenda, no plan, no motive, just pure TV heaven. If channel 4 don't continue with CBB8 then I'm certain there will be other channels knocking on the door of the BB house. This isn't just any show, it is the B all and Endemol. A gem from Holland we must hold onto. ITV today announced Adam Crozier as their new chief executive. The former head of the FA and more recently Royal mail has the perfect opportunity to kick off his new post, stamp his authority and deliver a first class entertainment package to ITV.
There have been many moments throughout the 'Last ever' series of CBB that I have written about over the past 24 days, moments of pure gold. The whole animal costume task began as nothing more than a ruse to sneak Davina into 'Her house' and something which on the face of it seemed to go so wrong instead became a moment of television history. If Davina has turned out to be the big big brother story a very close second is without a doubt the tree. Again tonight we witnessed it's awesome power as it managed to persuade Vinnie to show his softer side and convince Alex that he too had cross dressed in the past and actually enjoyed it, he must really like Leeds United as his reward for passing the task was to watch the 2-2 draw with Spurs in last weekends FA Cup tie. The tree mentioned there might even be a chance of the hard man being cast in a Romantic comedy if he proved he could also play soft, what you reckon, 'The Vinncent Jones Diaries'?
Nick the chick, Alex the Chicken, Vinnie the horse, Dane the goat, Jonas the pig, Steph the cow (For a little while) and Ivana the sheep, briefly, were only allowed to talk in their 'Pen', any communication outside that area had to be conducted in animal talk. Alex was hilarious strutting around chick chicking, Jonas oinking and I'm sure farting regularly also, a goat doing a really good Michael Jackson dance impression but nothing from the horses mouth.
After Nicolas secret eviction and a new nick chick was introduced to the zoo, the original pack of animals ganged up on the runt of the litter and at times Davina was visibly scared, particularly of a very big horse with a very big mouth admitting he was freaked out by the mystery chick and wanted to keep hitting it and 'Sling it out the back'. Alex thought it was Katie but the eggs were far too small, he chased her round the garden and was goaded by the goat, this was turning into a real nightmaaaaaaaaaarrreeeeee for Davina as Dane shouted to Alex to 'Cockadoodle do her', quality.
Finally she was rescued by a call to the diary room and it was so cute to see her sat in the chair she had always dreamed of being in and hearing the words she has waited 10 years to hear 'Big Brother is always here for you'. I noticed even though she was experiencing one of her life ambitions that she didn't forget all of us from Twitter as she sent tweet after tweet even though she was deep in conversation with a bit of Swedish bacon, Oh how much happier I would be right now if Jonas was from Denmark. Jonas told the lads he was going to bang a nice young Swedish chick but it turned out to be an older, heavier bird with masculine hands. I believe Davina left that house with only one regret, she couldn't produce a fart when she wanted one most. More seed Davina.
I am hoping that an animal doesn't win in tomorrow nights final show, I would be a very happy man if the remaining celebrities went in the following order;
Vinnie
Stephanie
Dane
Jonas
Alex.
I truly believe that is the right result based on peoples behaviour over the past 25 days. Katie Price seemed happy enough with her mans performance, she tweeted earlier tonight @MissKatiePrice...AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING MY BOY HAS DONE AMAZING.
